The Raising Of Our Flag

Historically there is great meaning and symbolism inherent in the design of a flag, especially when it is to represent the territory of an entire country and the ones for which it is home. Essentially our flag represents the Grace of a Nation, Our Glory.

Ours is a flag consisting of the color of life pulsing throughout our veins, intermingled with a representation for the light of consciousness encompassing every personal reflection, offering symbolic support of a field of stars shimmering brilliant contrast through the blanket of deep rich blue surrounding our home. The original designers of the flag of the United States of America created an elegant design that has proven to have a vast and ongoing significance since its dawn, providing a steadfast foundation on which to build while enabling continual reformation.

Although the red and white stripes now match the number of states present at the formation of the nation, there was a brief period that the stripes increased along with the stars, as noted with the inspiration for the Star Spangled Banner flown at Fort McHenry.

Altering the design of the flag to include increased representation of states soon revealed that the stripes would not allow for much expansion and therefore quickly came to predominantly represent the first unifying number of statehoods. And the malleable nature of the star field proved perfect for indicating the inclusion of new states into the union, which has remained steady at the beautiful arrangement of nine alternating rows of six and five stars to represent the fifty states established as of 1959.

A New Dawn

With the dawn of the space age and the addition of more and more territories such as island groups, areas of Antarctica and portions of the Lunar Surface, our flag has remained the same, and ultimately a set of specifications were set to provide benchmarks of layout and color further solidifying the design of the symbol to represent our wonderful union.

Thankfully we as a whole have been allowed to move forward with great technological advancement on a relatively safe planet gliding along an infinite path through hidden cold hazards around a constantly warming Sun. And as such we are now allowed to more assuredly venture from Earth into a VOID that promises amazing events on into forever.

As the United States begin to move out into the infinite space surrounding our established unified home since 1776, there is now a wonderful opportunity to consider the following uplifting significance of our Old Glory. To beautifully incorporate the promise of our continual growth, expansion and inclusion through a wonderfully more timeless design.

Brilliant Glory

As the 13 original colonies are forever symbolically represented, so shall the 50 states be forever symbolically represented, with every new territory, colony and state forever represented in the expansively eternal field of stars and infinitely shining rays of stripes.

Along with maintaining these and other significant historical standards is a newly expansive layout and boundaries of the flag form that will forever allow for growth while equally holding steadfast to honoring the template tee thirteen and the famous first fifty.

Although Glory may be presented in the current square ratio of 1 to 1.9, the expansive ratio of 1 to 1.1 along a Flow length of 1.999 introduces our flag to be further representative of always flowing, and thus our union always advancing and shining, into new and brilliant dimensions, while our Field extends infinitely beyond.

Symbolic Precision of Base Measures are to three decimal places and indicative of proportional ratios.

The Infinite Field expands from the Origin and extends at a diametric ratio of 1.776 into now thirteen shining Rays. The Field will remain the base of 1 and the Flow will expand to the ratio of 1.999, with a new Shine ratio of 1.1 at the extent of the shown Rays.

The beautiful arrangement of nine alternating rows of six and five stars extends the beauty into an arrangement of eleven alternating rows of five and four stars gracefully rippling from the Origin into an elegant array of unifying arcs.

The stars and their sparkles will be somewhat uniform, since ours is a unity of beautiful differences. The outward stars will align with the hidden arcs. Moving toward the center the stars align along four cardinal points.

All stars sparkle with the five equal points of a pentagon joined by five connecting lines from within a circle of diametric ratio 0.076. Utilizing one sparkle point as the beginning of the rotational positioning, with 0 degree facing the Shine and rotating counter-clockwise when looking to Brilliant Glory and rotating clockwise when looking from Brilliant Glory, each star is expressed into specified and varied orientations.

Field ~ 1.000 represents completeness in our oneness, our unity.

Flow ~ 1.999 represents our constant and shared vision of a more perfect union.

Shine ~ 1.100 represents our inclination toward growth and the inclusion and acceptance of others as shining forth from the Infinite Field.

Canton being traditionally rectangular now expands into the freely infinite circle representative of the multidimensional sphere to become the Infinite Field.

The Heading is toward the source of intention from where energy flows.

The Hoist is the portion of the flag form for securing in raised presentation, and is located at the Field for Brilliant Glory and at the Shine for Eternal Glory.

There is no longer a Ground and the Field term is now solely used for the Field of Stars.

The Horizon is where the Field joins the Rays in shared radiance.

The Flow is toward the expression of intention or to where energy flows.

The Shine is the visible edge of the infinite Rays.

Glory has no top or bottom and is correct in any position of representation.

As flown with a Heading toward the Field, Our Glory becomes Brilliant Glory.

For ease of manufacture certain measures and precision may be relaxed with Brilliant Glory utilizing existing square framing specifications set at 1.0 Field and 1.9 or 2.0 Flow along with traditional parallel stripes and no additional expansion for the Shine. Eternal Glory

There is a known truth when Brilliant Glory becomes Eternal.

To address the practice of lowering Glory down to half staff in remembrance and honor of select individuals or groups, here is a proposal for the inclusion of Eternal Glory, which is Brilliant Glory with the heading and hoist instead along the shine—allowing the eternal field to become more symbolically opened and the destination of intention.

For certain public locations and where any individual or establishment may choose, the preferred expression is that Brilliant Glory and Eternal Glory will be flown from a single support with Brilliant Glory at full height and Eternal Glory at half height. Alternatively each may be flown at full height on separate supports. Ultimately Our Glory experiences no disgrace if flown at any height.

The predominant practice of not maintaining Glory at full height during times of severe and prolonged expressions of sorrow has a tendency to keep US All down and in a melancholy and sometimes fearful state of mind. Instead the practice of maintaining Brilliant Glory at full height will be inspirational and consistently uplifting while Eternal Glory will now have the tendency to instill constant remembrance and honor of All who have moved on and not just the ones who made the headlines.

The two flags may be of differing dimensions, and it is a preference that Brilliant Glory is the larger of the two if not the same size. The preferred distance between the flags is the Flow length and may BE touching while draped.

With the meaningfully united and multi-dimensional expression in time and space of Brilliant Glory and Eternal Glory, together they are always To BE Glory Infinitely Now. Let US All BEGIN.

BEGIN ~ Waving & Folding

Glory Brilliant Eternal

The proposed ceremonial folding of Glory is of a flag with no Heading or Hoist, which may be folded if present, for the added expression of existing in a state of boundless freedom. Thus becoming Glory Brilliant Eternal, Glory BE.

Along the Flow are the two initial folds. With the flag viewed flat holding the Field left and Shine right, the first fold is the farthest third with the second fold the closest third, bringing the directional sum back to zero.

The next two folds bring the Shine to an arrowhead, with the following five also ending at an arrowhead. The folds now issue from the Field for a total of five to ultimately form a double headed arrow, one pointing toward the Shine the other toward the Field. The arrow of the Shine shifts to point upward as if away from a ground plane and toward an open sky. The final fold brings the arrows together to form one. The folded Glory is then rotated toward the original direction of the Shine, and is further moved toward final presentation, when the Arrow of Glory is turned to reveal three stars, one with an opposite heading from the other two.

There is a beautiful interpretation regarding the Folding of Glory as presented. Although all of the arrows ultimately fold into one, the two arrows toward the Shine to the one arrow toward the Field implies that there is a remaining impression of importance, for all life truly does matter, no matter the appearance of insignificance.

The entire journey of the folds can be thought of as an ultimate total of one. The first two cancel each other. The next thirteen are seven, two for an arrow that remains then five for an arrow that returns, bringing the Shine back. The next five folds bring the Field into the return arrow joining the Shine at the Horizon. The final folding is effectively the sixth fold of the Field through the turned Horizon and results in a representative total of one complete shine of brilliance.

Maintaining the stars at fifty will ensure that the current flag (Old Glory) will always be an honored and valid representation of the United States of America, with further representation expanded into Brilliant Glory. Both designs are still the Stars and Stripes with the Glory Brilliant Eternal design possibly expanding into the Eternal Rays or Eternal Shine or something else that We The People find joyfully appropriate.

BEGIN ~ Brilliant Eternal Glory Infinitely Now ~ is embellished when Brilliant Glory and Eternal Glory are flown together. Expressing a core significance of the United States of America; that we are forever a nation deeply rooted in the present moment of We The People, with a perspective that spans our collective past and future, all balanced through the glorious waves of our myriad ways.

BEGIN does not diminish the value of past or maintained ceremonial practices. It only expands the meaning and intent of ceremonial practices. Therefore current practices should be followed where preferred by the performers of such practices.

BEGIN may be justifiably presented in any position and equally described as, for example : Unity, Freedom, Liberty, or Glory ; [joined with] Stars, Suns, Flowers, or Fans.

BEGIN represents all liberty that is below, on, above and beyond. And as such there is no disgrace when the flag form touches any realm where liberty exists. For example Brilliant Glory and Eternal Glory may touch the dirt upon which we stand and still retain the flag form's intended brilliance and eternal significance, and may be continually raised and flown and ultimately utilized for all of the flag form's intended purposes including any ceremonial folding. Any damage upon the flag form does not diminish its significance as exampled with the raising of our flag atop Mount Suribachi on 19450223 and Ground Zero on 20010911 and the continued appreciation for the worn and tattered form flown over Fort McHenry in 1814.

Any conversion or utilization of the flag form into other positive uses are welcome. For such conversion and utilization only furthers the extended representation of Glory Brilliant Eternal. An example of positive uses are garments and blankets. And when any use fulfills a sense of comfort and security and warmth, such use is an expression of true freedom.

Furthermore any intended disgrace upon the flag form falls only upon the performers or source of disgrace, for no disgrace can degrade a form that is itself representative of Grace. If a flag form cannot be repaired or washed of resultant damages, then the flag form may be retained for posterity as exampled by the retention of the severely damaged flag that inspired the four verses by Francis Scott Key. Though any ultimate destinations will never diminish the true Grace of our Glory no matter the condition.

Keeping within the proposed uniqueness presented with Glory Brilliant Eternal, variations are possible. Specifically in the orientation of the fifty stars as well as the aforementioned boundary dimensions and accompanying shifts in star placements.

Glory Brilliant Eternal is the culmination of first ~ an idea that sparked many years ago when I realized that a US flag with fifty one or more stars is a stifling direction for our nation, and second ~ the inspiration that all who have left US should be honored with constant remembrance.

Through the many life experiences I have traveled comes the realization that we all reside in a nation, a world, a universe of objects and objectives and claims and aims. And although BEGIN has profound purpose for a nation, there is a well established necessity that as the inventor I must retain personal ownership and all reserved rights of these and other created works for the equally profound purpose of helping to ensure my well being and furthering my creative abilities.

Language of Unity

There is great value and joy in maintaining diversity, yet for a nation to experience true unity there must be one unifying language. A special aspect of a unifying language is that all may share in understanding. One absolute unifying form of communication to express meaning, understanding and guidance. One shared language of unity.

Although mathematics is a true base of understanding throughout the universe, there must be a language beyond the quantum that unifies a people of a nation.

The perfect choice for a unifying language is one that is easily morphing, adaptable and inclusive with the added benefit of being highly conducive to acronymic layering.

It is well established that American English is naturally adaptive through its consistent growth with the ages exampled with introductions of new and varied terminology and the folding in of certain words from other languages. American English is also the chosen language of the initial orchestrators in the formation and foundation of the nation to become known as the United States of America. Thus is the valid reasoning for the use of American English and its acronymic extensibility to express the significance of a symbol that is representative of so many before, so many now, and so many more. American English is well established as the one language that truly unifies US All.
